IGP Gets Knocks For Charging Personnel On Talent Development
The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba has been berated for charging personnel on talent development.
Alkali Baba who recently commended Mary Yetunde Aina for winning Bantam Weight Female Title Belt charged other personnel on talent development.
Recall that IGP in a statement electronically signed by the force acting spokesman, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, called on sports enthusiasts within the force to be unrelenting in developing their skills.
He further charged them to be dauntless in charting new frontiers in the world of sports.
This comment, however, triggered reactions on social media as some persons suspected to be police officers alleged that Nigerian Police Boss is not supportive in the area of talent development.
The comments collated from the media alleged that some of the junior police officers have wanted to advance a course and were denied by a higher authority in the force.
They noted that some of them had in the past sought permission to further develop themselves for the benefit of the force but were not granted permission.
“Story! The one some of us suffered from our little money and still applied for permission to further develop ourselves to the benefit of the force, they permit us?
“Even if you get the talent they don’t care about you from unlike the military they will even send you to the course on your talent,” they cried.
Nigerians, however, appealed to the respective authorities to allow junior police officers to explore their potentials in any discipline for the betterment of the Nation.
