India Lands First Spacecraft On Moon’s South Pole

India has landed a spacecraft near the south pole of the moon.

India’s Chandrayaan-3 is the first space mission to land near the south pole of the Moon, the fourth country to achieve a moon landing.

According to BBC inside the lander is the six-wheeled Pragyaan rover, which, if all goes to plan, will roam the lunar surface gathering images and data.

This is India’s third lunar mission attempt, and it is coming days after Russia’s unmanned Luna-25 spacecraft went out of control and crashed into the Moon.
