Jungle Justice: See Why A Suspected Madman Is Burnt Alive In Ughelli

A suspected madman was on Thursday January 06, 2021 burnt alive in Otovwodo Community, Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State.

The incident took place in the morning at the entrance of Otovwodo primary school, along the busy Isoko road.

The suspected madman was seen on Thursday morning making calls with an iPhone which attracted the attention of passers-by.

Africa Investigative Magazine gathered that the suspect quickly removed the sim card from his phone and masticated it when interfaced.

An action which led the mob to put him to death.

It was further gathered that over N300, 000 (three hundred thousand naira) of various denominations was in his possession and a bank credit alert of N6million.

Earlier, it was said that the man who posed as a mad person was arrested some months ago by Ughelli Divisional Police.

An eyewitness and a member of Saint Michael Catholic Church Otovwodo who preferred anonymity said it was a motorcyclist who saw him make calls with iPhone that raised alarm.

“I was at the church entrance when an okada man who was urinating close-by raised alarm saying the madman was using iPhone.

“When they approach him, he removed the sim and chewed it. The money in his bag would be up to N300,000. And when they checked his iPhone, there was a bank credit alert of N6million,” he said.

Another eyewitness who gave her name as Maria stated that a lot of people had gone missing in Ughelli.

The woman who narrated how a lady and her two children went missing in her area near Ughelli garage, urged all parents to be mindful and protect their children.

The Divisional Police Station Ughelli have, however, evacuated the carcass.
