Leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta Central Senatorial District on Sunday converged at the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, where they unanimously pledged total loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.
The strategic gathering, which drew senior government officials, party executives, influential leaders, and grassroots mobilisers, focused on strengthening internal cohesion ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Discussions centred on reinforcing party unity, enhancing organisational efficiency, and ensuring readiness for what participants described as a “defining political year” for the APC in Delta State.
Speaking at the event, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Olorogun Festus Keyamo, SAN, commended President Tinubu for significant progress in national security and economic stability.
“ Nigeria is beginning to record improved security across various regions,” Keyamo said, attributing the gains to President Tinubu’s renewed commitment to tackling insecurity.
He further praised Governor Oborevwori for what he described as “unequalled infrastructural development” across Delta State.
Keyamo cautioned aspirants preparing for the forthcoming APC congresses against bypassing grassroots structures, saying no one would secure the party’s ticket “from Abuja” without local endorsement.
He maintained that party discipline, loyalty, and respect for leadership remain non-negotiable.
Delta State APC Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie, described the ongoing strategic realignment from the PDP to the APC in Delta as significant.
He urged members to deepen grassroots engagements, rally behind respected elders, and stay resilient against political distractions. According to him, the party is poised for a landslide victory in 2027.
Similarly, Delta Central APC Chairman, Chief Paulinus Akpeki, warned against factional loyalties and indiscipline, describing Delta Central as the “political engine room” of the APC in the state.
“Delta State APC has only one leader, and that leader is His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori. Any loyalty outside this structure is unacceptable,” said Akpeki.
He announced new reforms, including mandatory monthly senatorial meetings rotating across the eight LGAs in Delta Central and the creation of a Delta Central APC Caucus Committee saddled with strategic planning, conflict resolution, mobilisation, and performance monitoring.
“Our mission is too important and the stakes too high for division. Delta Central APC must operate as one family with one structure and one objective: victory in 2027,” he said.
In their separate remarks, Senator Ede Dafinone; Hon. Ejiro Waive, Member representing Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu Federal Constituency; NEXIM Bank Executive Director, Stella Okotete; Chief Solomon Igrakpata; and Chief Andrew Oru, all underscored the importance of unity, discipline, and loyalty within the party.
Local Government APC Chairmen present also pledged to deliver overwhelming votes for President Tinubu, Governor Oborevwori, and all APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.
As the meeting concluded, party leaders reiterated their resolve to reposition Delta Central APC as a disciplined, united, and formidable political structure capable of delivering sweeping victories in the forthcoming elections.
