Man Reported Via Eagle Eye App Bags Six Months Jail Term

Man who targets UK revenue and customs has bagged six months jail term for theft and impersonation In Lagos, Lagos State, EFCC had said.

The Economic and Financial Crime Commission has on Monday January 31, 2022, secured the conviction of Amunikoro Oludare Olawale.

Ludare Olawale was jailed six months imprisonment for charges on identity theft and impersonation.

He was arraigned on Monday before Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos State.

The commission carried out investigation into the convicted Olawale’s criminal activities after a complaint from one S. Hawkins.

The complainant who reach the commission through one of it’s mobile App was a United Kingdom (UK) based business executive.

The statement by the commission reads, “Hawkins, using the EFCC online reporting mobile application, The Eagle Eye App, had reported that Olawale used her name to commit fraud with Her Majesty Revenue and Customs, HMRC, in the UK.

“Olawale was subsequently arrested by operatives of the Commission on November 22, 2021, and arraigned on January 31, 2022.”
