Covid-19: Man United Set New Rules For Fans Attending Games At Old Trafford

Sequel to the scourge of Covid-19, Manchester United have revealed that fans watching games at Old Trafford shall obtain gate-pass before entry into the stadium.

This is in line with with government’s order for the Premier League giant to implement the new rules to contain the spread of the pandemic.

The government also urged the fans to adhere to the new rules and prepare accordingly for the matches they would watch, starting from the game against Burnley which is scheduled for December 30, 2021.

Africa Investigative Magazine gathered that the fans attending games at Old Trafford must show their Covid-19 status before access into the stadium.

The new rules were; the supporters above the ages of 18 are requested to were face masks, provide proof of double vaccination, as well as evidence of a negative PCR or a valid medical exemption.

Others were evidence of flow of test taken with two days before the game, players and staff within the relevant person group will be subject to the separate Premier Legue protocols and testing programme.

In a Report made available to newsmen, the Club’s Chief Operating Officer, Mr Collette Roche explained that it would do everything possible to safeguard her supporters.

Collette said; “We have been mandated by the Government to implement these new rules and we urge all fans to prepare accordingly for matches they plan to attend.

“Face masks will be mandatory in indoor sections, such as concourses and hospitality suites, except when eating or drinking. Fans are requested to wear face coverings at the turnstiles.

“It’s particularly important that fans download their NHS COVID Pass to their phones before travelling to Old Trafford, and that they arrive at the stadium early to avoid delays at the turnstiles, where we will be conducting extensive spot checks,” the report added.
