In a move that is expected to usher in a new era of development and growth, Rt. Hon. Ossai Nicholas Ossai has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Ossai’s defection was made public during a ‘mini celebration’ held at his country home in Kwale, Ndokwa West Local Government Area, Delta State, on Febraury 20, 2025.
Rt. Hon. Ossai, a renowned politician and advocate for the people of Ndokwa nation, stated that his decision to join the APC was driven by his desire to bring about meaningful change and development to his people.
“I am excited to join the APC, a party that shares my vision for a better Nigeria,” Rt. Hon. Ossai said. “I am confident that with the support of the APC, we can achieve great things for the people of Ndokwa nation.”
While saying that his defection to the APC is a significant boost to the party’s chances in the forthcoming elections, Ossai added that his influence and popularity across Ndokwa nation will swing votes in favor of the APC.
According to him, Senator Ned Nwoko has discussed the completion of the Okpai IPP project with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the project’s completion is a top priority for the senator and the APC.
The former Legislator also highlighted his personal investment in the Okpai IPP project, stating that he had spent a significant amount of money on the project and had hoped to see it through to completion.
With the APC’s support, the former House of Representative member is confident that the project will be completed to bring much-needed economic benefits to the region.
“APC will give us our own state which is Anioma State. I initiated the IPP project at Okpai. I spent huge amount of money into the project. I wanted to earn the credit that I am the person who started and finish it. But, Ned Nwoko, the senator representing Delta North is coming to complete it.
“Ned has discussed with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu that what he wants for his people is the completion of IPP step down,” he said.
The APC’s LGA Chairman, High Comr. Gregory Dike Onah, expressed his pleasure for having Ossai in the party, and praised his commitment to the development of Ndokwa nation.
“We are thrilled to have Rt. Hon. Ossai join our party. His wealth of experience and passion for development will be a valuable asset to our party and the people of Ndokwa nation,” he said.
