Jungle Justice: Middle-Aged Man Lynch In Ughelli For Alleged Robbery

A middle-aged man was on Thursday, March 24, 2022, burnt alive in Ughelli town, Ughelli North Local Area, Delta State, over an alleged armed robbery.

The suspected armed robber was set ablaze on Thursday morning after an unsuccessful attempt to dispossess his victim of her valuables.

Africa Investigative Magazine learned that the deceased allegedly attacked a female POS attendant at Ovuata Street, opposite UBA with a gun in an effort steal to from her.

Luck ran out of him as the POS attendant raised alarm; he was chased by Mob who later set him ablaze at NNPC Roundabout.

An eyewitness who did not want his name in print, said that the robber robbed the POS’ shop at Ovuata street with a local gun.

“The armed robbed a POS shop at Ovuata street in morning with a gun. He grabbed the small bag from the POS operator not knowing that the main money was not there.

“As the girl raised alarm, he brought out his gun trying to shoot. I don’t know whether the gun disappointed him or not, but he quickly ran with the bag.

“People went after him, as he tried to escape through another street opposite the NNPC roundabout. He was caught and beaten to stupor.

“He was dragged on the ground to the place where he was set ablaze.

At the time of filing this report, his remains was still romancing with fire.

When contacted, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Dsp Edafe Bright denied knowledge of it, saying the incident has not been reported at the police headquarters.
