Netherlands Win Senegal 2-0 To Earn 3 Points (See Details)

The Netherlands earned three points as they won against Senegal 2-0 in the ongoing 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar on November 21, 2022.

The first goal of the game was harmonized as Cody Gakpo got behind the Senegal defence to connect with a De Jong cross and headed past the Senegalese goalkeeper, Edouard Mendy, from the edge of the six-yard box.

It a hard nut to crack for both team, as they hit no target at first half. The first goal for Netherlands came at the 84th minute being their first attempt on target.

Netherlands compounded issues for their opponent when Davy Klaassen scored a second goal in the 99th minute of extra time.

Earlier, Frenkie de Jong came the closest but the Dutch midfielder couldn’t utilize the bright chance established by Coady Gapko. He strived to slash in but failed and squandered the opportunity to shoot at a goal with no one but Mendy guarding it.

Although Senegal had a fantastic outing and shielded their post till the 86th minute, they couldn’t hold Netherlands to a stalemate to grab a point from the match.

Recall that Senegalese star, Sadio Mane, missed the 2022 Qatar World Cup as a result of injury sustained in club match last month.
