A U.S. federal court has sentenced a 27-year-old Nigerian man, Imoleayo Samuel Aina, also known as “Alice Dave,” to six years in prison for orchestrating an online sextortion scheme that contributed to the death of a Pennsylvania teenager.
U.S. District Judge Joel H. Slomsky handed down the 72-month sentence, along with five years of supervised release and $3,250 restitution. Aina had earlier pleaded guilty to charges including cyberstalking, interstate threats, extortion, money-laundering conspiracy, and wire fraud.
Aina and his co-defendant, Samuel Olasunkanmi Abiodun, were arrested in Nigeria before being taken into FBI custody on July 31, 2024. Both were extradited to the U.S. and indicted in August of the same year, alongside a third suspect, Afeez Olatunji Adewale, who remains in Nigeria awaiting extradition.
Abiodun, 26, pleaded guilty in December 2024 and received a five-year prison sentence on June 10, 2025.
U.S. Attorney David Metcalf described Aina as the “driving force” behind the scheme that left the teenage victim and his family devastated. He emphasized that U.S. authorities will continue to pursue and prosecute online extortionists globally.
Wayne A. Jacobs, head of the FBI’s Philadelphia Field Office, said the sentencing highlights the severe harm caused by sextortion and sends a clear warning to offenders operating within and outside the United States.
The investigation involved the cooperation of the FBI, Abington Township Police, and several Nigerian government bodies, including the Attorney General of the Federation, the Federal Ministry of Justice, and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).!
