Ovie Of Ewu-Urhubo, HRM Clement Ikolo Gets Staff Of Office

His Royal Majesty, Clement Oghenerukevwe Ikolo, Urhukpe 1, the Ovie of Ewu-Urhubo Kingdom has been presented with a staff of office by the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.
Gov. Oborevwori made the presentation on November 16, 2023, at Ewu Primary School, Ewu, in Ughelli South Local Government Area, Delta State.
Oborevwori, who congratulated Clement Ikolo on ascending the royal stool of the Kingdom, thanked the people of Ewu-Urhubo for their love, cooperation and contributions in making the occasion seamless.
The governor, represented by his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, said the ceremony was deeply ingrained with the traditional rites and processes of ascension to the throne of the Ovie of Ewu-Urhubo Kingdom.
Onyeme appealed to the newly crowned King to be accessible, urging him to hold on to the principles of fair-play, equity and justice in his conducts.
He said, “I am here on behalf of the Governor Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori. It is my pleasure to be in the midst of the friends and well-wishers Ewu-Urhubo people who have gathered here today for presentation of staff of office to HRM Clement Oghenerukevwe Ikolo, the Iruke 1, the Ovie of Ewu-Urhubo.
“On behalf of the Governor and people of Delta State, I congratulate His Royal Majesty on his ascension to the royal stool of his fore-bearer. I also felicitate with the people of Ewu-Urhubo and everyone in the Kingdom for their cooperation, love and contribution which had made today occasion seamlessly.
“This ceremony caps various traditional rites and processes which follow the ascension to the throne of the Ovie of this Kingdom.
“I am happy about the peace and love, associated in all procedure, they are all the stamp of authority and vote of confidence repose on him by the people of this Kingdom,” he said
While appealing to Ikolo to implore the principles of unity, Onyeme said, “Your majesty, I appeal to you to improve on the sanity of your exalted office by leading your people to greater prosperity in an environment marked by peace, love, understanding, mutual respect to the throne and the people.
“I urge you to be accessible, while upholding at time, the virtue of fair-play, equity and justice in all your dealings with your subjects.
“In every decision you take, I implore you to place the interest of your people and fear of God above all other considerations.
“Ensure that you encourage free-flow of communication, dialogue and consultation in all segments of your people.
He further admonished the Urhukpe 1 of Ewu-Urhubo to reciprocate the love of his subjects, saying that it is obvious that Clement Ikolo is truly accepted by his people.
