Scores Defect To Labour Party As It Holds Mega Rally In Delta

In effort to tackle under-development and other social problems rocking Delta State, the State Labour Party faithful have on February 20, 2023, held a mega rally in Utagba-Uno, Ndokwa West Local Government Area, Delta State.
The rally jotted down a massive turnout of supporters and party candidates from the twenty five local government areas in the state.
It also saw the State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress (APC) lose big as some of their members defected to Labour Party and declared their support for Peter Obi and other candidates of the party.
Present at the occasion were the state party governorship candidate, Deacon Ken Pela, Deputy Governorship Candidate, Prof. (Mrs.) Julie Nwabuogor Umukoro, Delta North Senatorial Candidate, Barr. Kenneth Kanma and Delta North Leader, Chief (Dr) Ken Oliseh.
Others were House of Representatives Candidate for Ndokwa/Ukwani Federal Constituency, Dr. Gift Okwuolise, House of Assembly candidate, Ukwani LGA Constituency, Hon Lucky Ikukaiwe, the House of Assembly Candidate for Ndokwa West Constituency, Chief Chuks Onyemulu, and House of Assembly Candidate Candidate, Oshimili North Constituency, Engr. Nkenchor Delight.
Also present were the party state executives, local, ward executives as well as the presidential campaign council representatives, amongst others.
Speaking, the state party guber candidate, Deacon Ken Pela expressed his willingness to take over the mantle of leadership from the ruling party, saying that Labour Party has come onboard to liberate the people from hardship and under-development.
He stated that the only way for Deltans, particularly Ndokwa Nation and other oil producing communities who had been marginalized by subsequent governments to see green light is to vote for Labour Party from the apex position to the least position.
Similarly, the ever vibrant and women energizer, Prof Julie Umukoro encouraged women and youths to be active in politics, noting that the party would give preference to women and youths with reference to education, empowerment and scholarships if voted into power in the forthcoming elections.
She stated that the party is well-grounded with constructive developmental policies for transformation of Delta State, and Nigeria at large.
On his part, Chief Chuks Onyemulu assured the thrilling masses of delivering dividends of democracy to their doorsteps if the party emerged victorious come February 25 and March 11 elections.
He stated that the people of Ndokwa West will get the mark of good governance and representation on the condition that they vote for the Labour Party which is deeply ingrained with credible candidates.
Other candidates rolled out their manifestos and how to deal with the variety of issues in their concerned areas ranging from unemployment, insecurity, rape, to poor infrastructure, lack of power supply, poorly equipped hospitals, among others.
The highlights of the occasion were reception of the defectors who set their brooms and umbrella ablaze, saying that their former parties have spoon-fed them with falsehood and hardship.
