Former governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, has stressed the need for the federal government to reconstitute the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
Dr. Uduaghan tasked President Muhammadu Buhari to establish the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), immediately saying that he has taken too long to do so.

Uduaghan who made the request in Warri while hosting Delta South leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said the president must not neglect the board.
“We appeal to Mr. President to please put up the NDDC board, it’s getting too long. Put it up and, of course, people from this senatorial district must be deeply involved at the top heirarchy of the commission.”

He appealed to the Federal Government to cushion the effects of the flood, which has destroyed a lot of communities and killed many people in the country.
Uduaghan, however, warned that people not from Delta South should not be engaged with the jobs that were supposed to be for the people of the area.
He noted that the jobs are mainly are people from Delta South senatorial district who suffer environmental degradation from oil exploration.
“We must not have a situation whereby someone from another senatorial district is the one coming to do our own. If there’s anything like that, let me know.
“Because I heard that some part of the senatorial district is being handled by someone else but we will not agree,” he said.
