Staying Safe in Hotels: Essential Security Tips

When traveling, your safety and security should be top priorities. Hotels can be a convenient and comfortable option, but it’s crucial to take precautions to protect yourself and your belongings. Here are some valuable security tips to consider before and during your hotel stay, helping you stay safe and secure throughout your trip.

1. Once you’re in your hotel room, turn off the lights. Use your phone camera as a scanner. Move the phone camera around to detect hidden cameras.

2. Move a piece of furniture behind the door to prevent break-ins. Furniture like the bed or chair. If you cannot move your bed, hang a utensil or cup on the door handle to create noise if someone tries to enter, which will wake you up.

3. If you’re alone, leave the key inside the door after locking to prevent unauthorized entry in case any hotel staff have a spare key. You can avoid this if you’re with someone you don’t fully trust.
