TANTITA Security Boosts Nigeria’s Crude Oil Production to Over 1.7 Million Barrels Per Day

Nigeria’s crude oil production has rebounded to over 1.7 million barrels per day (bpd), marking a significant turnaround from a previous low of 700,000 bpd due to the strategic intervention of TANTITA Security Services Nigeria Limited.

This milestone was disclosed by Captain Warredi Enisuoh, Executive Director of Operations and Technical for TANTITA, during the commissioning of the newly built permanent secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Warri Correspondents’ Chapel, in Warri, Delta State.

Enisuoh revealed that prior to the company’s engagement by the Federal Government to safeguard critical oil and gas infrastructure, crude oil theft had crippled production output in the Niger Delta.

“When we came in, Nigeria was producing around 700,000 barrels per day. Today, we have pushed that figure above 1.7 million bpd. That’s the result of our relentless operations against oil theft,” he stated.

He described the scale of past sabotage, citing that trucks traveled from as far as Niger Republic to illegally lift stolen crude, adding that “We have drastically reduced that level of environmental and economic sabotage.”

Led by High Chief Dr. Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, TANTITA’s operations carried out in collaboration with security agencies, have not only curbed illegal activities but also restored investor confidence and national revenue flows.

While emphasizing that the fight against oil theft requires a collective national effort, Captain Enisuoh said, “This is not just a job for security operatives. Every Nigerian must take it as a patriotic duty to defend our common wealth from those who sabotage it.”

He also highlighted the importance of public engagement and media partnership in winning the war against economic sabotage.

“We realized early on that protecting pipelines wasn’t enough. We needed to shape public perception and mobilize support. That’s where the NUJ came in,” he explained, citing the company’s donation of a permanent office to the Warri Correspondents’ Chapel as a strategic alliance.

Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, represented by Dr. Ebenezar Okorodudu, Executive Director of Projects at DESOPADEC, commended TANTITA for its transformational role. “This company has demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and societal responsibility,” he said.

The event drew high-profile attendees including NUJ National President Alhassan Yahyah, Warri Chapel Chairman Victor Okpomor, former NUJ President Chris Isiguzo, the Ovie of Idjerhe Kingdom HRM King Monday Obukohwo Whiskey, and retired naval intelligence chief Commodore Omatseye Nesiama. All applauded TANTITA’s efforts, describing them as groundbreaking in restoring security and economic stability to the region.

The commissioning of the NUJ secretariat symbolized more than infrastructural development; it reflected a growing synergy between private security efforts and public institutions in the fight against oil theft and national revenue loss.

As Nigeria’s oil sector looks to sustain and expand this recovery, the TANTITA-led model is increasingly being cited as a case study in effective public-private collaboration.
