Tompolo Disowns Report Giving FG 21-Day Ultimatum to Release Nnamdi Kanu

A Prominent Niger Delta leader and Chairman of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL), High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has distanced himself from a report circulating on social media claiming he issued a 21-day ultimatum to the Federal Government to release the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.

In a statement released by his Media Consultant, Dr. Paul Bebenimibo, Tompolo described the publication as false, misleading, and a deliberate attempt by detractors to tarnish his image and undermine his efforts to combat oil theft and illegal crude activities in the Niger Delta.

“We wish to state unequivocally and unambiguously that Tompolo did not author the said publication. High Chief Ekpemupolo has nothing to do with the issue of Nnamdi Kanu,” the statement read.

According to Dr. Bebenimibo, those behind the false story are enemies of Tompolo who are uncomfortable with his ongoing commitment to rid the Niger Delta of illegal bunkering and crude oil theft.

“These individuals have failed and will continue to fail because he will not relent in his mission to completely eradicate illegal oil activities in the region,” he added.

The statement reaffirmed Tompolo’s unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Federal Government, stressing that the Ijaw leader remains a strong backer of the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“Tompolo remains firm in his loyalty to President Tinubu and reiterates his endorsement of Mr. President for a second term,” the statement further noted.

Dr. Bebenimibo therefore urged the Federal Government, stakeholders, and the general public to disregard the viral publication, describing it as “a baseless fabrication intended to mislead the public.”
