Tragedy: A 68-Year-Old Man Murdered In Ogume

The residents of Ogume in Ndokwa West Local Government Area, Delta State have been thrown into mourning following the gruesome killing of a 68-year-old man in his residence.

The deceased identified as Chief Nze Pius Omenogor was murdered on Christmas Eve by an unknown assailant in his premises.

Africa Investigative Magazine gathered that Late Chief Nze Omenogor came out from his house to expatriate when he met his sudden death.

It was further gathered that the victim who lived with his 10 years old daughter has lost his wife some years ago before the hoodlums stabbed him to death.

The sad incident took place at Ogbe Inotu in Ogbe-Ogume.

At the time of filing this report, an effort to reach the deceased family members for more information was not successful as their contacts were not reachable.

Recall that some months ago, a similar incident happened at Abbi, in the same LGA, when a man (name withheld) was murdered immediately he opened his door for people that sought his attention.

Reacting, the mediator between herdsmen and farmers, and a member of Delta State Livestock Management Committee, Mr. Mathew Ujene Ossai appealed to the security operatives and leaders of the community to fish out the perpetrators.

Mr. Mathew Ujene who cried out that Ogume is no more safe urged the community leaders to resolve the lingering crises in every part of the community.

When contacted, the Delta State Police Spokesman, DSP Edafe Bright said the police has no knowledge of such an incident and promised to confirm it.

The body of late Nze Omenogor Pius had been deposited at Saint Luke Mortuary, Kwale, and would be buried after the public holidays.
