The Delta State Police Command has reaffirmed its commitment to public safety and crime prevention with a successful, intelligence-driven operation led by ASP Julius Robinson, Head of the Commissioner of Police Special Assignment Team (CP-SAT), which resulted in the arrest of criminal suspects and the recovery of firearms and illicit substances in Ughelli and its environs.
On 28 December 2025, acting on carefully analysed and credible intelligence, ASP Julius Robinson coordinated a focused raid on a suspected criminal hideout in the Otorwhodo area of Ughelli North Local Government Area. The well-executed operation led to the arrest of Moses Tejiri (24), while efforts are ongoing to apprehend other fleeing members of the group.
Items recovered during the operation included one long Dane gun, two locally fabricated Beretta pistols, and twenty-one rounds of live ammunition, effectively disrupting the group’s capacity to carry out violent crimes.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect provided valuable information that is already assisting the Police in strengthening surveillance and preventive measures across identified flashpoints in Ughelli metropolis.
Complementing this success, operatives of the State Intelligence Department (SID), on 29 December 2025, arrested Isu Emmanuel (male) along Okpanam Road, following sustained monitoring of illegal drug distribution activities.
A cache of controlled and prohibited drugs, including tramadol, Swindol, and codeine-based syrup, was recovered, underscoring the Command’s holistic approach to tackling both violent crime and drug abuse, which often fuels criminal activities.
These operations highlight the Delta State Police Command’s strategic emphasis on early intelligence gathering, professional execution, and community partnership as essential tools for crime reduction.
The Command assures residents that sustained patrols, targeted interventions, and follow-up investigations remain in place to consolidate these gains.
Members of the public are encouraged to continue cooperating with law enforcement agencies by providing timely and credible information, as collective vigilance remains key to maintaining peace, safety, and social stability across Delta State.
