The Vice-Chancellor of Admiralty University of Nigeria (ADUN), Prof. Christopher Ogbogbo, has reaffirmed the university’s commitment to promoting both academic excellence and religious development.
Ogbogbo stated this during the foundation-laying ceremony for the university’s Central Mosque at its permanent campus in Ibusa, Delta State.
He said the university remains committed to producing graduates who are sound in character and learning.
According to him, religion plays a vital role in shaping students’ character and fostering moral values within the university community.
The Vice-Chancellor encouraged the leadership of the Muslim community to construct a befitting mosque that would adequately serve members of the university community.
He noted that the facility would also provide a conducive place of worship for friends and visitors from outside the campus.
Ogbogbo expressed appreciation to the Muslim community for inviting him to perform the foundation-laying ceremony.
He assured the Muslim community of the university’s continued support for religious organisations and activities within the institution.
The Vice-Chancellor also pledged to visit the project periodically to monitor its progress and address any issues that might arise.
Speaking on behalf of the Muslim community, Dr. Musa Saheed expressed appreciation to the university management for its continued support.
Saheed commended the Vice-Chancellor for his remarkable achievements since assuming office and thanked Almighty Allah for His benevolence, guidance, and continued blessings upon the university community.
