Christ Chosen Deliverance Church International Inc., popularly known as “The City of Deliverance,” is set to celebrate its 40th anniversary with a grand convention scheduled to hold from March 18 to March 22, 2026, in Irri, Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State.
The milestone event, themed “Faithful God,” will take place at the church’s cathedral in Irri and will attract worshippers, ministers of the gospel, and guests from across Nigeria and beyond.
According to the General Overseer Apst. (Dr.) Thompson Oki, the anniversary is designed to reflect on four decades of God’s faithfulness to the ministry while also offering a platform for spiritual revival, thanksgiving, and impartation for believers.
The week-long programme will feature a variety of activities including praise and worship sessions to be led by Nigerian Praise Singer Chioma Jesus, powerful ministrations, seminars, and workshops.
Others include healing and deliverance services, as well as prayers aimed at strengthening the faith of participants.
The host, Apst. Thompson Oki, is the founder of the ministry whose leadership has played a significant role in the growth and expansion of the church over the years.
Several prominent men of God, expected to minister during the convention are Archbishop Dr. Solomon Gbakara, Bishop U. J. Aruakaporo, Papa Ayo Oritsejafor, Bishop Teheri Oroh, Archbishop Eddy Bebor, and Rev. Umueme Gabriel Efemena.
The programme will also feature gospel ministers and music performers such as Min. Emmazi, Min. Omogbolu Favour, and Wisdom Sax, who are expected to lead worship sessions and musical ministrations during the celebration.
Apostle Oki stated that the anniversary will not only serve as a celebration of the ministry’s achievements but also as a moment to appreciate the contributions of members, leaders, and supporters who have been part of the church’s journey since its inception.
Oki added that the convention will also focus on spiritual empowerment and community impact, with teachings and discussions expected to address contemporary Christian living and leadership.
The activities, however, will begin on March 18, at 4:00 p.m., while morning sessions from Thursday to Saturday will start at 8:00 a.m., followed by evening services at 4:00 p.m. The grand finale service on Sunday, March 22, will commence at 7:00 a.m.
He called on Christians, residents of Delta State, and the general public to attend the celebration, noting that the event promises to be a time of spiritual renewal, miracles, and thanksgiving for God’s faithfulness over the past four decades.
Assuring the participants of a top-notch event, the founder said the convention will inspire faith and reinforce the church’s mission of spreading the message of deliverance and hope.
