Afimag.com –
The people of Obosi in Idemili North local government area, Anambra State, have been thrown into tears following the gruesome murder of the President General of the community, Ike Okolo.
Okolo was shot dead on January 02, 2023, by unknown gunmen who rounded up his vehicle and opened fire on him. At the time of filing this report, his corpse was still enmeshed in his SUV car at a filling station in the town where he went to fuel his vehicle.
An eyewitness who preferred anonymity said that the sound of gunshots from the killers caused a stampede in the area as the gunmen riddled his car with bullets.

“People were afraid of the sound of gunshots. The gunmen trailed Okolo to the fuel station where he came to fuel his car and riddled him with bullets. I cannot tell whether they were cultists or assassins.
“We were all afraid to hear the sound of a gunshot. Everyone scampered for safety, including the security guard attached to the fuel station. It was a horrible experience. I pray the government does something about the insecurity in the state,” she said.
His killers, however, were yet to be identified, although there were assumptions that it might be the handiwork of cult groups that are rampant in the community.
