Police Arrest Son For Killing Father With Pestle In Rivers

A middle age man identified as Ikechi has been arrested for allegedly killing his father with a pestle at Rumuaghaolu in Obio Akpor Local Government Area, Rivers State.

The culprit requested for some money from the father but became angry for his failure to grant his request.

According to an eye witness, the suspected murderer “was sad that he did not give him the money. He attacked his father with a pestle and smashed the father’s head with it. He was reported dead on the spot.

“He was so enraged over the deceased refusal to give him money which he requested yesterday at Road 9, Rumuagholu, Port Harcourt,” he said.

He added that, “The boy was suspected to be on drugs. He was asking his dad for money and the man refused to give him yesterday. He carried a pestle and hit him.”

Reacting, the Rivers State Police Command spokesman, SP Grace Iringe Koko confirmed the story, saying that the suspect had been arrested by the police.
