Safer Highway Teams Recover Live Ammunitions, Arrest Suspects In Delta
The Delta State police command said it has arrested a robbery suspect and recovered live ammunition.
This was contained in a statement obtained by Africa Investigative Magazine on August 27, 2021.
The state commissioner of police, CP Ari Muhammed Ali, in the statement reinstated his commitment to make the state crime-free.
The commissioner who made the statement through the state acting Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, added that ‘stop and search’ measure adopted by the police has helped to mitigate the excesses of criminals in the state.
The command explained that the Safer-Highway Teams at Delta/Edo boundary along Sapele Benin road on a ‘stop and search’ duty arrested one Davison Edehede of Ugbor road, Warri.
The police, upon searching the 34 years old suspect’s Nissan Maxima vehicle with registrationon number JJJ 494 ES recovered one AK47 rifle with breach number 7165 and nine rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition.
On a different account, the statement further said that the Delta State Police Raider Operatives on August 23, 2021 also arrested one Ifeanyi Ajudia suspected to be a cultist.
Raider Operatives swung into action knowing that that a cultist was after one man (name withheld).
The Operatives who acted on an intelligence, recovered a local fabricated berretta pistol without magazine at Ibusa, the suspect’s residence.

1.Stop and search has been vital in helping the command in fighting crime in the state. Its part of the proactive policing that has been put in place by the Commissioner of police Delta state command, CP Ari Muhammed Ali, FCIA, psc+ which continue to help nip crime in the bud. On the 23/8/2021 at about 0700hrs, Safer-Highway teams stationed between Delta/Edo boundary along Sapele Benin road while on stop and search duty intercepted a white colour Nissan Maxima Reg. No. JJJ 494 ES. The Vehicle was flagged down for search. Upon searching the vehicle one AK47 rifle with breach No. 7165 with nine (9) rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition was recovered the suspect one Davison Edehede ‘m’ 34yrs of Ugbor road Ukpaka area of Warri was arrested. Investigation is ongoing.
2.On the 23/8/2021 at about 0700hrs, acting on a credible information received that a cultist has been trailing one man (name withheld). Delta state police command Raider operatives were detailed to investigate and unravel the person behind the threat. They went on an intelligence-led investigation which led to the arrest of one Ifeanyi Ajudia ‘m’ at Ibusa. a search warrant was executed in the house and premise of the suspect where one locally fabricated berretta pistol without magazine was recovered. The investigation is ongoing.
