Afimag.com –
A Flight belonging to Turkey Airlines was shot on April 28, 2023, as it got to its airbase outside Sudan’s capital, Khartoum to evacuate stranded Turkish citizens in the country.
The Turkey’s Defence Ministry who confirmed the development said Turkish evacuation plane was shot at Sudan but there was no record of casualty.
According to CNN, the Flight touched down safely at Wadi Seidna, where it was thoroughly searched by some military personnel.
Reacting, the Sudan’s army had accused the paramilitary fighters for firing at the aircraft and destroying its fuel system.

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) denied the allegation, saying it was committed to the extended humanitarian truce.
The rival military factions agreed to an extension of their ceasefire at midnight local time (22:00 GMT on Thursday) for a further three days. It has had only a limited effect, with army jets continuing to pound RSF positions in Khartoum during the night.
The previous truce allowed thousands of people to attempt to flee to safety, while dozens of countries organized evacuations. Turkey’s defence minister said efforts would continue to rescue Turkish citizens from Wadi Seidna and the city of Port Sudan on the Red Sea coast.
The crisis has ravaged the Sudanese capital and its surroundings which, recently, grew to a population of about 11 million. The people including foreigners are left without supplies of food, water and fuel.
At the last count, over 800 people had been killed with more than 1500 military personnel and civilians inflicted with severe injuries.
