Bandits Kill Groom, Abduct Wife, Family Members In Kaduna

Bandits have during the weekend, killed a groom, and abducted his pregnant wife and four members of a family.

The bandits who turned out in mass numbering over 50 invaded Jere town along the Abuja-Kaduna expressway.

The invaders entered the community on motorcycles and went from one house to another looking for whom to victimize.

It was gathered that the bandits targeted the home of a former commissioner, Abdulrahman Ibrahim Jere, who was out of town at the time of the attack.

They allegedly attacked the home of a newly married couple and killed the groom who tried to prevent them from abducting his wife.

An eyewitness who preferred anonymity alleged that security operatives left the villagers at the mercy of the hoodlums despite several phone calls put on them to come to their rescue.

At press time, the state police command has not issued a release to confirm or condemn the incident.
