Breaking: Fuel Tanker Explodes In Abuja

An explosion, occasioned by a fuel tanker crash has rocked Gwagwa, a suburb of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, on the night of June 09, 2023.

Africa Investigative Magazine gathered that responders have been deployed to the scene of the incident.

FCT Fire Service Public Relations Officer, Mr Amiola Adebayo, confirmed the incident, saying there was a fuel tanker explosion on Friday night.

He said, “There was an explosion caused by a fuel tanker crash in Gwagwa tonight, and our men have been deployed to the scene of the incident.”

A police source also noted that the explosion resulted from a fuel tanker crash.

“It wasn’t a plane crash but a fuel tanker crash that led to the explosion,” the source said.

The level of casualty could not be ascertained at the time of filing this report.
