How Chinese Killed Nigerian Lover With Knife In Kano

A Chinese man, Frank Geng Quarong has admitted before a Kano State High Court to killing his 22 year old Nigerian lover, Ummukulsum Sani with a knife in Kano, Kano State.

The 47-year-old Mr Quanrong was brought the Court for killing his girlfriend who he followed to her family house in Kano, forced himself into her room and stabbed her to death.

Under cross-examination by the prosecution counsel, Kano State Director Public Prosecution (DPP) Mrs Aisha Mahmoud, at the resumed hearing on March 29, 2023, the defendant told the court that he had stabbed Ummukulsum with a knife, which led to her death.

The defendant, who lives at Railway Quarters Kano said that on that fateful day a lot of things happened that he could not remember.

Frank told the court that he came to Nigeria in 2019 to work as a Marketing and sales Manager in BBY Textile Company Kano.

He said, “I was paid N1.5 million monthly and i also do some other side business. On that fateful day Ummukulsum pushed me on the bed.

“I told her is she mad and she said yes, i grabbed to collect the knife on her hand and stabbed her without the intention to kill her. I went out of the room through the window since the door was locked from outside and wanted to take Ummukulsum to the hospital then the police came and arrested me.”

It was gathered that Frank, has earlier told the court that Ummukulsum injured him on his genitals.

The defence counsel, Mr Muhammad Dan’azumi, presented a Urologist, Dr Abdullahi Abubakar, as defense second witness (DW2).

Dr Abubakar told the court that, he has been practicing as a urologist for over 30 years ,and he had been teaching some courses at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital for 13 years in urology.

He told the court that, if there is prolonged pressure on the end nerves, feelings may change and the release of adrenalin fall over stimulation of Vagus nerve which may cause fright, fight and flight.

“The blood pressure will fall, there will be low level of oxygen in the brain and the patient may faint or get shocked so in other to survive the action you try to fight the situation”

Mahmoud alleged that, the defendant on September 16, 2022 stabbed the deceased with a knife in her house at Janbulo Quarters Kano.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge. According to the prosecutor, the offence contravenes the provisions of Section 221(b) of the Penal Code.

Justice Sanusi Ado-Ma’aji, ordered the defense counsel to furnish the prosecution with their witness list and medical dictionary.

He adjourned the matter until April 6, for cross-examination and continuation of defense.
