Manchester United have reached a deal with Chelsea for the acquisition of midfielder Mason Mount on a five-year deal.
The England international has been one of Erik ten Hag’s top targets in the summer transfer window and after four previous bids were rejected.
Mount is now heading for a medical at Carrington after both clubs had a breakthrough in negotiations.
The Red Devils will pay Chelsea a total of £60m – including add-ons and Mount will put pen to paper on a five-year deal.
Mount will be the first signing of the 2023 summer transfer window for manager Erik ten Hag ahead of the new campaign.
Fans of the Old Trafford outfit will be pleased with the club’s ability to land Mason Mount, after United had earlier walked away from the negotiating table.
But the Red Devils returned with another bid which paved the way for Mount to now settle on personal terms and undergo his medical.
