Japhet who hailed from Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State was the only child of his parents. He went to Bauchi for post- recruitment training about three months after he got married.

He was a product of Nasarawa State Polytechnic. His marriage with Angela Onuh who was a graduate of College of Agriculture Lafia, was three months old before joining the police.

The couple has been in a romantic relationship for about one year before they got married. Though a source close to them alleged that there was no intimacy a few months before their marriage in September last year. Unfortunately, the intimacy they had after marriage could not result in pregnancy before the husband departed for training.

Japhet, while leaving for training secured an apartment in Lafia, Nasarawa State capital. It was the same premises his stepbrother, Samuel Aba, lived. The new recruit believes that his half-brother who is a primary school teacher will help to take care of his wife in his absence.

To his utmost surprise, Angela was five months pregnant when he came back.
