The Osun State Governor, Sen Ademola Adeleke has said that Adegboyega Oyetola who lost his reelection bid has the right to approach the Supreme Court if he was not satisfied with Appeal Court judgment.
Adeleke made the remark during the Arise News morning show on March 27, 2023, monitored by Africa Investigative Magazine.
Osun State high court, earlier, sacked Ademola Adeleke and ordered INEC to issue new Certificate of Return to Adegboyega Oyetola, as the candidate who scored the highest valid votes in the governorship election held in the state.
Contrary to the judgment, the Court of Appeal in Abuja upheld the election of Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the duly elected governor of the state.

Reacting to the development, Adegboyega Oyetola, in a statement by his media personel, Ismail Omipidan said there is a dependable medium to seek further redress at the apex court.
On his part, Adeleke said, “No, not really. If they want to go to the Supreme Court, they have the right to do that. So, I have my people on my side. And I also have God on my side.
“If they want to go ahead, it’s their right to go ahead to the Supreme Court. Immediately after the news of the Appeal Court, I tried to reach out and called the former Governor Oyetola to let us forge ahead and move Osun forward.”
According to to Adeleke, he reached out to the former governor of the state so they can work together for the betterment of Osun people but no reply yet.
“Although he has not called to congratulate me, I’m still hoping he will do that because we don’t have any other state than Osun state here,” Adeleke said.
