Police Kill 1 Bandit, Arrest 2 Others, Recover Weapons In Kaduna

The Kaduna State Police Command sai d its operatives attached to Rigachikun Division have on Saturday, January 14, 2023 killed one bandit while several others escaped with gunshots injuries.
The Command stated that it received a distress call at about 0100hours on Saturday that the house of one Ibrahim Umar at Amana Maimadachi community was under attack by the bandits.

Consequently, Crack operatives in collaboration with other local security outfits were deployed to the scene where they engaged the bandits with gun battle, deterring their plots to cause mayhem in the area.
According to a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Muhammad Jalige, one of the bandits in military camouflage was shot dead by the police while others who escaped were inflicted with various degrees of injuries.

“A serviceable AK47 rifle loaded with four rounds of live ammunition was recovered from the neutralised bandit,” he added.
The statement added that the operatives of the Command attached to Saminaka Division have on Friday, January 13, 2023 at Warsa Piti area of Saminaka in Lere Local Government Area of the State, arrested two men suspected be bandits.
The suspects were Dauda Yusuf and Sani Ibrahim.

According to the statement, a thorough search was conducted on the suspects, and a locally fabricated GPMG rifle with six rounds of live ammunition and a Dane gun were recovered.
It said, “Upon preliminary investigation, the suspects confessed to the ownership of the weapons and are currently assisting the Police in investigation,” he said, adding that at the end of investigation, the suspects will be arraigned.
