See Shocking Reasons Why Woman Drags Her Son To Court

A woman has dragged her 30-year-old son, Tum Joseph, to Upper Customary Court in Kafanchan, Kaduna State on August 08, 2023, for allegedly stealing her mattress and clothes.

Joseph was brought before the court on a three-count bordering on criminal intimidation, inciting disturbance of public peace and theft.

According to the Police Prosecutor, Insp Esther Bishen, the defendant’s mother, Bridget, who lives in Ungwan Fari, Kafanchan reported the matter at the Kafanchan Divisional Police station on July 07, 2023.

Bishen told the court that the plaintiff was nursing her sick husband in the hospital when she received information that her son had carted away some items in the house.

She listed the stolen items to include one mattress, two containers of herbicide chemical, 10 yards of wrapper and some of her husband’s clothes.

The police told the court that the mattress was recovered from the defendant during investigation.

The offence, according to the police, contravenes the provisions of sections 378, 76 and 270 of the Kaduna State Penal Code Law.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge while it was read to him.

The prosecutor prayed the court for adjournment to enable the police call witnesses to prove its case.

The presiding judge, Mr George Gwani granted the defendant bail in the sum of N20, 000 and a surety in like sum who must be his uncle.

He adjourned the matter until September 05, 2023, for hearing.
