Unknown Gunmen Attack Police Station In Imo, Injure Two Officers
Yet to be identified gunmen have on Monday morning, attacked the Otoko Divisional Police Headquarters, Obowo Local Government Area, Imo State injuring two police officers.
The attack which took place at 2: 00 am was suspected to have been carried out by the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB)
It was gathered that the hoodlums came out from the forest and detonated explosives at the Force’s premises before they started shooting.

The Police fought back to prevent the gunmen from advancing into the police compound.
Two police officers who sustained gunshot injuries during the ugly scenario have been taken to hospital for medical treatment.
Recall that on the March 19, 2022, there was an attack on Umuguma police divisional headquarters, Owerri West Local Government Area, Imo State which led to the death of two police officers.

Commenting, the spokesman of the Command, CSP Michael Abattam, said members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra ( IPOB ) or the Eastern Security Network ( ESN ) bombed the station.
He explained that they came in their large numbers and threw Improvised Explosive Devices that fell on the transit camp, a place he said policemen dwell before they were fully accommodated.
According to Michael Abattam, police officers engaged them in a gun battle which prevented them from accessing the station.

Hear him: “Engaging the hoodlums in a fierce gun duel, we prevented them from gaining entrance to the station and in the process forced the hoodlums into retreating and they escaped back into the forest with various degrees of bullet wounds.
“The police operatives gave them a hot chase and while combing the bush the following items were recovered on the spot: three(3) undetonated Explosives, four(4) expended AK 47 rifles, ammunition, five(5) live cartridges, thirty three(33) expended cartridges, two mask, one pump action gun and a motor saw machine,” he said.
