The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Delta, Agbor, Prof. Stella Chiemeke, FNCS, has issued a public notice warning of a scam in which individuals are misusing her name and images to promote fake job opportunities and solicit funds from the public.
According to the notice, these malicious activities are primarily taking place on Facebook, where scammers are impersonating Prof. Chiemeke to deceive unsuspecting individuals.
Prof. Chiemeke emphasized that these activities are not authorized by her and urged the public to exercise caution when interacting with individuals claiming to represent her on social media.
She advised the public not to send or accept any money from anyone impersonating her, and to report any suspicious activities to the relevant authorities.
The Vice-Chancellor’s warning serves as a reminder to be vigilant when interacting online and to verify the authenticity of information before taking any action.
The notice reads: “Public Notice: I have recently discovered that some individuals with malicious intent are misusing my name and images to promote fake job opportunities and solicit funds from the public, particularly on Facebook.
“I want to clarify that these activities are not authorized by me, and I urge the public to be cautious to avoid being deceived by these criminals.
“Please do not send or accept any money from anyone impersonating me through social media. Thank you,
