The Ukwuani Progressives Female Youth Forum has publicly declared its unwavering support for the Executive Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, following his recent defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Formerly known as the Ukwuani PDP Female Youth Forum, the group announced a name change to reflect its new political alignment and progressive outlook.
In a statement signed by the L.G.A Coordinator, Ms. Oyiboh Joy Ivan, the forum emphasized its endorsement of Governor Oborevwori’s leadership and praised his commitment to the development of Delta State through his signature MORE Agenda.
The statement described the Governor’s switch to the APC as a bold and strategic move that aligns with the aspirations of the people, particularly the youth.

“As stakeholders within the Ukwuani political space, we are resolute in our support for Governor Oborevwori and commend his vision for a more inclusive and prosperous Delta,” said Ms. Ivan. “We are confident that this new political direction will yield greater opportunities for growth, unity, and empowerment.”
The group urged its members across all ten wards in Ukwuani LGA to register with the APC and actively participate in the party’s programs and initiatives. Highlighting the importance of youth involvement in governance, the forum reaffirmed its commitment to promoting women and youth inclusion in politics and development efforts.
“We call on every citizen of Delta State to rally behind the Governor’s administration and join us in building a brighter future for our state,” the statement said.
Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, who was elected under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), recently made headlines after announcing his move to the APC, alongside several key political figures in the state.
