Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has urged investors, especially, Deltans at home and abroad to seize the opportunities created by the state’s improving socio-economic climate and invest in various sectors of the economy.
The Governor made the call on Friday in Ubeji, Warri South Local Government Area, during the inauguration of the Swiss International Rancho Valerie Hotel, a multi-million-naira hospitality and tourism facility. He declared that “the time to invest in Delta State is now.”
Emphasizing that Warri is witnessing renewed growth, Oborevwori said the hotel stands as a bold testament to the city’s rising economic profile and the growing confidence investors now have in the state.
“Warri is rising again, Delta State is progressing steadily. The shadows of yesterday have given way to the bright possibilities of today and the greater promises of tomorrow,” he stated.
In a move to improve accessibility within the area, the Governor ordered the immediate rehabilitation of failed sections of the Ubeji–Egbokodo–Refinery Road.
Oborevwori noted that the newly commissioned hotel will deliver premium accommodation services while stimulating local business activities, creating jobs, promoting peace, and contributing significantly to Delta State’s socio-economic development.
“This hotel is not just another project; it is a clear statement that Delta State is open for business. It affirms that our state is safe, investor-friendly, and capable of hosting world-class hospitality and tourism ventures,” the Governor said.
He praised the hotel’s owner, Mr. Mode Akoma, describing the investment as a remarkable story of vision and determination. The Governor commended Akoma for choosing to invest in his community, insisting he would not have attended a commissioning ceremony outside the state.
“I am proud that you chose to develop your community. This project brings jobs, brings peace, and brings progress,” he added.
Reiterating his administration’s commitment to infrastructure expansion, improved security, and investor-friendly reforms under the MORE Agenda, Oborevwori said the success of such projects highlights the vast investment potential available in Delta State.
In his welcome address, the hotel’s General Manager, Mr. Todowede Opeyemi, assured guests that the facility is positioned to offer world-class hospitality services while supporting the state’s drive to unlock its tourism potential.
“Every guest deserves more than just a stay, they deserve an unforgettable experience that reflects our culture, hospitality, and warmth as a people,” he said.
