FG To Investigate NPA Management, Asks Hadiza Usman To Step Aside
The Federal Government on Thursday said it would investigate the Management of Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA.
This comes to the heels after the approval of the recommendation of the Ministry of Transportation under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi by the president.
The Transportation Minister has recommended the setting up of an Administrative Panel of Inquiry to investigate the Management of the Nigerian Ports Authority by President Buhari.
According to the statement made available by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, President Buhari has approved a panel of inquiry on NPA, asking Hadiza Usman to step aside.
The statement said that President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the recommendation of the Ministry of Transportation under Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi for the setting up of an Administrative Panel of Inquiry to investigate the Management of the Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA.
It reads; “The President has also approved that the Managing Director, Hadiza Bala Usman step aside while the investigation is carried out. Mr Mohammed Koko will act in that position.
“The panel is to be headed by the Director, Maritime Services of the Ministry while the Deputy Director, Legal of the same ministry will serve as Secretary.
Other members of the panel will be appointed by the Minister.”
What difference does it makes if Hadiza Bala Usman steps down and Mohammed Koko acts in position?
