Gunmen Kill Cleric’s Two Children, Three Others In Plateau Fresh Attack

The residents of Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau state have been thrown into mourning following the killing of killed five people by gu’nmen.

The Victims as identified were Mr/Mrs Patrick and two children of a clergyman simply as Reverend Sati

The ugly incident took place at Nchya community in the early hours of August 07, 2023, a few days after similar attack by gunmen in the council area.

A resident of Nchya community who preferred anonymity told our correspondent that the incident had triggered fresh tension in the locality coming after a protest by angry residents.

He said, “Five people were attacked and killed by suspected Fulani militia in Nchya Village, Mangu District of Mangu Local Government at about 1:00 last night ( 07/08/2023).

“Among the victims are Mr/Mrs Patrick and a daughter and son of Reverend Sati. The village where the attack occurred is less than 3 kilometres away from Mangu town.”

According to Punch, the villagers in Nchya community moved the corpses of the Victims in a pick-up vehicle to Mangu town leading to mass protests in Mangu town.

The Spokesman for the Military Special Taskforce in charge of maintaining peace in the state, Captain Oya James, who also confirmed the killings, however, said that security had been reinforced in the area.
