Sequel to the rift between the Sudanese Army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), the Federal Government of Nigeria is set to evacuate Nigerian students and others living in Sudan.
The internal and political crises rocking Sudan has led to death over 60 citizens with more than 600 persons injured. The spate of destruction of properties in the country for the past few days, and threatening of the lives of foreigners call for concern.
In a statement by Gabriel Odu of Media, Public Relations and Protocols Unit, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), the Chairperson, Hon Abike Dabiri-Erewa, said the hostility in Sudan has escalated.

The NIDCOM Chief Executive Officer said the Commission has received the letter of Solicitation by National Association of Nigerian Students Sudan for possible evacuation of Students especially those in Khartoum, the Sudanese capital.
She added that the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), is in talks with Nigerian mission in Sudan and other relevant agencies to evacuate Nigerians from the country.
