The Vice Chancellor of Admiralty University of Nigeria (ADUN), Prof. Christopher Ogbogbo, has appointed Prof. Christy Isitua as Director of the Centre for Advancement and Linkages.
The appointment took effect from August 1, 2026, and is expected to strengthen the university’s advancement, research and strategic partnership capacity.
Speaking with members of the university’s Media and Information Unit, Prof. Isitua pledged to use the opportunity to contribute to ADUN’s continued growth.
She said the directorate would work closely with the Vice Chancellor, management and relevant units to achieve measurable and sustainable institutional impact.
According to her, the Centre will strengthen the university’s research profile, expand strategic partnerships and translate research and innovation into societal and economic value.
Prof. Isitua described the Vice Chancellor as a visionary leader with the competence and capacity to provide purposeful leadership.
She said Prof. Ogbogbo was a “full package” and the right person for the job, describing him as a round peg in a round hole.
According to her, the Vice Chancellor’s one year and few months in office have witnessed monumental developments across the institution.
She added that the level of transformation recorded under the present administration was unprecedented since the establishment of the university.
The award-winning professor urged staff members to key into the vision and mission of the university for collective progress.
“We will all benefit from the transformative policies of the Vice Chancellor and his management team,” she said.
Prof. Isitua is a Professor of Microbiology, Biotechnology and Public Health, with research interests spanning forensic science and related disciplines.
She described education as light and stressed the importance of continuous learning, research and innovation in national and global development.
Prof. Isitua recently won the Gates Foundation Travel Grant to attend the IMUS 2026 Congress in Lisbon, Portugal.
