How I Would Restore City’s Master Plan – Wike
Afimag.com –
The newly sworn-in Federal Capital Territory (FCT) minister, Barr Nyesom Wike has said that he restore the original master plan of the Federal Capital, Abuja.
Wike, who disclosed this on August 21, 2023, as he assumed office, added that illegal structures will go down to give the nation’s capital a new look.
The Rivers State former governor explained that land owners that have been given Certificates of Occupancy, that are yet to develop their lands would give way to those with the financial capacity to build.
According to him, “If you know you have built where you are not supposed to build, it will go down,” he said.
Wike was sworn in alongside 44 other ministers on August 21, 2023, by the Attorney General of the Federation after a successful screening and confirmation by Nigerian senators.
In a CTVTweets, Wike said the country will not condone having markets, bus-stops and motor parks everywhere, noting all the places would be sanitized.
“We are not going to tolerate having markets, bustops, and motor parks everywhere. I don’t care who you are or where you come from. All we care about is sanitising the place,” he said.
