Afimag.com –

Stakeholders in health sector have advocated the use of advanced information technology for health benefits.

National Coordinator, Civil Society in Malaria Control, Immunisation and Nutrition, Ayo Ipinmoye, disclosed this in Abuja during media interaction over the lapses on healthcare services in the country.

While expressing concern over inadequate consumables at most healthcare centres, Ipinmoye added that, with appropriate technology, the country would lower over dependent on foreign products.

He commended international partners for their support, suggesting that necessary standards should be established to ensure local resources are harnessed to produce vaccines and drugs in Nigeria.

On his part, the Executive Secretary, Country Coordinating Mechanism for Global Fund, Ibrahim Olaitan lamented over the porous form of data in the health sector.

Mr Olaitan added that it was in the best interest of Nigerians to get electronic medical records operationalized across the board.
