Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu Federal Constituency Forum has been inaugurated by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Delta State chapter, in Ughelli, on March 22, 2025.
The forum, according to the Party stakeholders, marked a significant milestone in promoting participatory democracy, good governance, and sustainable development within the constituency.
It also aimed at uniting PDP members and work towards reclaiming the constituency from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
Key officials sworn in during the inauguration ceremony were Olorogun John Oguma; Chairman, Chief Eddie Onosorhue; Deputy Chairman, Rt. Hon. Festus Agas; Secretary, and Chief Festus Ahon, Publicity Secretary.
Others were Hon. George Oyefia, Treasurer; Hon. Henry Sakpra, Financial Secretary, Chief Vivian Ogheneovo, Woman Leader; Comrade Ejiro Hope, Youth Leader, Senator Emmanuel Aguariavwodo; Adviser, Chief Fred Majemite, coordinator; and Chief Moses Odibo, Ex-officio.
Speaking, the Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, stressed the importance of zoning in Delta’s political landscape, particularly in the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) dominance, praising Delta’s peaceful nature, which he attributed to the governorship rotation adopted since 1999.
Onyeme said, “Delta is a very peaceful state and since 1999 we were the first to embrace governorship rotation and it has been working very well for us. All previous Governors did eight years and this time around, it will not be different because Governor Oborevwori dey work and Deltans dey see am.
“Governor Oborevwori is working with Julius Berger and other reputable construction companies to develop the state and I can assure you that more projects will be executed across the state.”
On his part, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, the success of the ocassion is an is a proof of unity and solidarity in PDP, adding that Governor Oborevwori would be re-elected in 2027 with the support of Deltans.
He said, “What we have done today is to show that the Federal Constituency stands united to return Governor Oborevwori to Government House in 2027. We are all united and I can assure you that PDP will win the entire eight local government areas in Delta Central.”
