As the people of Abraka community in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State marks its annual festival, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Security Matters, Hon. John Enamuotor, has issued a strong advisory to residents and youths to remain law-abiding and alert.

Hon. Enamuotor’s warning follows a troubling incident on May 22, 2025, when several individuals were reportedly abducted around 7 p.m. at Awana Avenue Extension.

The incident has raised fresh concerns about security in the area as the community prepares for the festive season.

Enamuotor, who cautioned against using the festival as a cover for criminal activity, said that any attempts to disrupt the peace will be met with strict enforcement measures.

“There is no hideout for crimimals. The security agents are on alert. Anyone with the intention of causing mayhem in Abraka or its environ will be met with greatest resistence,” he said.

The Security Adviser also called on all residents to remain vigilant and to promptly report any suspicious movements or activities to the appropriate security agencies, noting that safety is a collective responsibility, especially during large gatherings that attract numerous visitors.

“Security is everyone’s business. Security operatives may not do much without credible intelligence and cooperation of the public. Kindly report any suspicious movement to security agents for proper action,” he advised.

He assured the public of heightened security presence and proactive measures to ensure the festival proceeds without any incidents.
