Tantita Security Services Reaffirms Commitment to Peace and Development in the Niger Delta

Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited has reiterated its dedication to fostering peace and sustainable development in the Niger Delta, emphasizing ongoing partnerships with key stakeholders and robust investment in youth empowerment programs.

This reaffirmation was made by the company’s Managing Director, High Chief Keston Pondi, during the commissioning of the Isoko Youth House (Fred Obe Secretariat) in Ozoro, Delta State. The commissioning, held on Saturday, marks a significant milestone in Tantita’s broader vision of community engagement and socio-economic transformation in oil-producing areas.

Chief Pondi noted that while Tantita’s core mandate granted by the Federal Government focuses on protecting vital oil infrastructure, the company’s mission transcends security operations.

“Our work is not just about pipeline surveillance,” he said. “It is about creating lasting peace, empowering communities, and ensuring that the people of the Niger Delta are active participants in their own development.”

The newly inaugurated youth facility, situated along the Ozoro/Kwale Road opposite the Southern Delta University Gate, stands as a testament to this commitment. Commissioned on behalf of Tantita’s Chairman, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo (popularly known as Tompolo), the Isoko Youth House was described by Chief Pondi as a promise fulfilled to provide a platform for Isoko youths to organize, innovate, and advocate for their aspirations.

Delta State Commissioner for Youths, Hon. ThankGod Harry Frakriowei, who represented Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, praised the initiative, calling the youth house “a symbol of hope, opportunity, and progress.” He revealed that the state-of-the-art facility is equipped with modern ICT tools and will serve as a center for skill acquisition, innovation, and leadership training aligning perfectly with the state government’s MORE Agenda for youth empowerment and development.

In his remarks, the President of the Isoko National Youths Assembly Worldwide, Comrade Eniwake Orogun, hailed the facility as a monument to the enduring struggle for justice and equitable development in the region. He noted that naming the center after Chief Fred Obe honors his pioneering leadership during the Niger Delta agitation for resource control and fair oil revenue sharing.

Chief Obe, visibly moved by the recognition, expressed gratitude and recounted the historical roots of the Isoko Youth House, which began as a vision in the late 1990s. He recalled his collaboration with other regional leaders such as Tompolo and Asari Dokubo during the advocacy years that eventually led to national reforms under President Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration.

He commended Chief Pondi for his instrumental role in bringing the project to fruition, describing his contribution as both substantial and deeply appreciated. Comrade Orogun also extended thanks to other supporters, including Hon. Jonathan Ukodhiko, and reiterated the strong bonds between the Isoko and Ijaw ethnic groups.

Constructed at a cost exceeding ₦200 million, the Isoko Youth House is now a fully functional hub for youth development. Attendees at the event were urged to preserve the facility through responsible usage and proper maintenance, ensuring that it serves generations to come.
