Community Set to Honour Late Mrs. Susan Caulker with Final Rites

Final preparations have been concluded for the burial rites of the late Mrs. Susan Caulker (née Irede), a revered matriarch and beloved member of the Urhuoka-Abraka community in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State.

Mrs. Caulker, aged 63, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025. Her funeral ceremonies will commence with a Service of Songs in her honour.

According to the burial arrangements jointly signed by Mr. Stanley Irede and Miss Rukevwe Caulker, the funeral events will begin on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, with a Vigil Mass at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Otokutu, Ughelli South LGA, starting at 5:30 PM.

A Requiem Mass will follow on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, Urhuoka-Abraka, after which a reception will be held at Urhuoka-Abraka School 1.

The funeral programme will conclude with a Thanksgiving Mass on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at 8:30 AM at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Otokutu.

Family members, friends, and well-wishers are expected to gather in large numbers to celebrate the life and legacy of Mrs. Caulker, who was known for her unwavering kindness, humility, and generosity.

A trained teacher and successful businesswoman, Mrs. Caulker is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, aged mother, siblings including her immediate younger brother and veteran journalist, Mr. Dennis Otu and numerous other relatives.

Her death is a profound loss to both her family and the wider community, where she was admired as a pillar of strength and compassion.
