The President General of Utagba-Ogbe, Kwale, in Ndokwa West LGA, Delta State, Chief Godwin Ifeanyi Edeme, has emphasized the urgent need for peace, unity, and sustainable development as the foundation for the prosperity of the historic Utagba-Ogbe Kingdom.
Speaking during a community engagement, Chief Edeme noted that the strength of every society lies in the harmony of its citizens and the visionary leadership steering its affairs.
He stressed that for Utagba-Ogbe to attain its full potential, peace, unity, and development must remain top priorities.
“Peace is the foundation of progress. Without peace, every form of advancement, be it social, cultural, or economic becomes difficult to achieve,” Edeme stated, adding that an atmosphere of tranquility attracts investors, encourages government interventions, and enables youths to focus on education and entrepreneurship instead of conflict.
The community leader also highlighted the importance of unity, describing it as the “lifeblood of every thriving society.”
He warned against internal divisions, stressing that a united Utagba-Ogbe would be better positioned to protect its heritage, demand its fair share of development, and achieve common goals.
He called for strategic efforts to harness the Kingdom’s human and natural resources for the common good, urging stakeholders to engage government agencies, development partners, and private investors to implement projects that will improve the standard of living of the people.
The President General reaffirmed that peace, unity, and development are inseparable, stating: “Peace gives us stability, unity gives us strength, and development gives us progress. When we embrace these virtues, our Kingdom will thrive and leave a lasting legacy for generations to come.”
