The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State has passed a vote of confidence on its newly constituted executive committee led by Mr. Samson Evwighono, reaffirming unity and loyalty within the party structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The resolution was reached on Saturday during an enlarged meeting of the party held at the APC Secretariat in Ughelli. The gathering, which drew a large turnout of party members, leaders, and elders, unanimously endorsed the Evwighono-led executive as the only duly recognized leadership of the APC in Ughelli North.
Speaking at the meeting, the Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Area, Rt. Hon. Jaro Egbo, commended party members for their steadfastness and commitment.
He urged them to remain united and focused, expressing optimism that the APC possesses the capacity and grassroots support to win all elective positions in the 2027 elections.
Also addressing the gathering, prominent APC stalwart, Ms. Stella Okotete, dismissed speculations of division within the party, stressing that there is “no faction in Ughelli North APC.”
She maintained that those absent from the meeting without genuine reasons were working against the interest of the party.
“Every member of the APC, from councilors to council chairmen, members of the National Assembly, ministers, heads of agencies, and even the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, all belong to the Ughelli North APC. We are one family, united under one leadership,” Okotete declared.
She further affirmed the party’s readiness to deliver victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, and all APC candidates across all levels in the forthcoming elections.
In his remarks, the Ughelli North APC Acting Chairman, Mr. Samson Evwighono, expressed profound gratitude to party members and leaders for the overwhelming confidence reposed in his leadership. He described the endorsement as a call to greater service and unity.
Evwighono assured members of his executives’ commitment to strengthening the party’s base, revealing plans to embark on ward-to-ward meetings in the coming days to engage with grassroots leaders and mobilize support across the local government.
“We are fully committed to ensuring that Ughelli North remains a stronghold of the APC. Our objective is clear. It is to deliver resounding victories for our party at all levels in 2027,” he stated.
