The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a man identified as Oluchukwu Anyaoku after a video surfaced online showing him allegedly issuing threats to destroy police formations in Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area.
According to a statement issued on Wednesday, the suspect was tracked down and apprehended by operatives attached to the Obosi Division on December 2, 2025, shortly after the video was intercepted by the Command.
During the arrest, police officers recovered a firearm and a cutlass found in his possession.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ikenga Tochukwu, noted that preliminary observations suggest the suspect may require professional medical evaluation, adding that necessary procedures are already underway.
The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Awka for a thorough investigation and review of all available evidence.
The Police assured residents of Obosi and the wider Anambra community of their commitment to maintaining law and order, urging the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security agencies.
