CP Aina Adesola Commends CP-SAT For Operational Excellence

The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Aina Adesola, has commended operatives of the Commissioner of Police Special Assignment Team (CP-SAT), led by ASP Julius Robinson, for their professionalism, bravery, and tactical efficiency in foiling a planned kidnap attempt in Ughelli.

The commendation followed a successful intelligence-driven operation carried out on January 11, 2026, at about 9:35 p.m. in the Upper Agbarho area of Ughelli, which led to the recovery of high-grade firearms and live ammunition from suspected kidnappers.

According to a statement by state command spokesman, SP Edafe Bright, CP-SAT operatives acted on credible intelligence that about six suspected kidnappers were sighted along a bush path in Upper Agbarho.  Acting swiftly, the operatives, in collaboration with community vigilantes, cordoned off an uncompleted building identified as the suspects’ hideout.

On sighting the operatives, the suspects reportedly opened fire, leading to a brief gun duel. However, they were overpowered by superior police firepower and forced to flee the scene with varying degrees of injuries, abandoning their weapons and other incriminating items.

Items recovered include one FNC rifle loaded with one round of live ammunition and one pump-action gun with thirty-two rounds of live cartridges. All exhibits have been secured, while a coordinated manhunt has been launched to apprehend the fleeing suspects.

The Delta State Police Command reassured residents of its commitment to sustained, intelligence-led operations aimed at combating kidnapping, armed robbery, and other violent crimes across the state.
